Woodcock Pennsylvania Maple Rye Whiskey is our Rye Whiskey, which is then rested in barrels after they have had maple syrup aged in them. The subtle sweetness of the maple syrup blends perfectly with the peppery spice and earthy notes of the rye whiskey, creating an incredibly balanced maple rye whiskey.

Information & History

The idea of aging maple syrup in oak barrels may sound like a modern twist, but it’s actually rooted in tradition. In recent decades, small-scale syrup producers began aging their syrup in used whiskey barrels to infuse it with deeper flavor—vanilla, smoke, spice, and oak—creating a richer, more complex syrup. Once emptied, those barrels retained the essence of the syrup and were often reused by distillers looking to add a subtle maple touch to their spirits.


Our Woodcock Pennsylvania Maple Rye builds on that exact tradition. We take our signature rye whiskey—made from 100% Pennsylvania grains—and rest it in barrels that previously held barrel-aged maple syrup. The result is a beautiful balance of natural sweetness and spice: warm maple notes meet the floral, earthy character of rye, with just the right touch of oak and smoke from the barrel.

It’s not flavored, it’s finished—and that makes all the difference.
